Hey guys,

Anyone care to explain why my HD5850 has lower fps than my 8800GT? Sad

My settings on both cards were all high quality, never changed the video settings on css. But i get only 100-150 fps max on the HD5850 while 150-200fps on the 8800GT.

Something wrong there, care to give more details of your rig?

5770 is lower than yours and im getting > 300 altho capped at 198.

why yours kena capped at 198?

I am using AMD Phenom X4 965 with 4GB DDR3 1333 and my psu is 620w.

I scared my Asus HD5850 something wrong now. Sad

before I upgraded pc, it was capped at 133 now I have a better card, I changed to 198

check this thread at stream forum. capping makes registration better

you only need what is doubled your refresh rate.

nice article, but mine is definitely not capped. My fps_max is 300.

And i now have slight lag on freaking smokesssssss

I think you better check your card. Monitor the temp or something, maybe a dud card? hahaha. Its performing worst than my old 4850 if lags during smoke

ya the temp is pretty high coz of my mATX case..on Furmark stability test my highest temp was 102 degrees celcius, lowest 80 degrees. But the 8800GT also ran as high as 98 celcius. Don't know if its because of the temp..

This might sound stupid but I threw all the boxes for my parts, so i had to buy a micro-atx board and case to hand carry all my parts when i move back to indo...

I totally regret doing this, should have just sell the system in the US, and build a new one in Indo. But again that time I didn't know indo have computer stores...LOL!!

gotta do an upgrade soon...  Undecided
